Gli oggetti di plastica come bottiglie e contenitori, entrano nella catena alimentare di pesci e cetacei.
Lo scorso 28 marzo 2019 ne ha fatto le spese un capodoglio femmina trovato morto sulla costa della Sardegna con 22 kg di plastica nello stomaco e un feto di 2 metri in grembo.
